Post Partum
The postpartum period is a time of profound recovery and adjustment.
Pregnancy and childbirth place significant stress on the pelvic floor, the group of muscles and tissues
that support your bladder, bowel, uterus, and rectum.
Common postpartum pelvic issues include:
-
Incontinence (leaking urine or gas, especially with sneezing, coughing, or exercise).
-
Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP), which can feel like a heaviness, pressure, or a "falling out" sensation in the vagina.
-
Pelvic Pain or discomfort, including pain during intercourse.
-
Diastasis Recti (separation of the abdominal muscles), which is often connected to pelvic floor function.
Recovery and care is crucial!
Start with gentle rest and, once cleared by your healthcare provider, incorporate
Pelvic Floor Exercises (Kegels) by using the EMSELLA and EMSCULPT
to help restore strength and support.
For persistent or bothersome symptoms - such as ongoing pain, leakage
or pressure - it is important to consult a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist or
other medical professional.
