Urinary Incontinence
Urinary incontinence is defined as the involuntary leakage of urine.
This may be experienced as the result of weak pelvic floor muscles - they play such an important role in
supporting the pelvic organs and controlling continence.
There are 3 different types of urinary incontinence:
-
Stress Incontinence: is when there is exerted pressure on the bladder causing leakage. This can be caused
by coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising
-
Urge: is the sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently
-
Mixed incontinence: is a combination of both stress and urge incontinence
It is important to STRENGTHEN and RE-EDUCATE THESE MUSCLES in order to improve symptoms.
Possible ways to improve your condition may include lifestyle changes, Kegel exercises and of course the wonderful happy chair - EMSELLA!
Have you been diagnosed with Incontinence?
The Australian Government has a program known as CAPS
They will give eligible incontinence patients $710 plus per year
per person towards continence products and this can be
used towards our EMSELLA treatments.
